“ Two decades of big brand-experience in the bag, before we even first opened our doors 15 years ago. That’s what we call a ‘legacy'. "
After 3 years of full time study in Graphic Design and Advertising & Marketing, Howard qualified in 1989 and has gone on to have an illustrious and diverse career in the creative sector, the first two decades of which were entirely focused exclusively on high-profile projects for national and global brands. Whilst still just a teenager, he played a major role in a small team that looked after the creative for the UK-wide signage schemes for numerous leading pub chains, famous high street groups, banks, and car dealerships.
When Howard was in his early 20's his attention shifted to retail branding as he secured a position as a senior designer in what has now evolved into one of the largest brand management companies in the world. During his tenure with the company he had the privilege of working on significant branded packaging projects for the likes of Nisa, Morrisons, Halfords, Mars, Hasbro, Disney, Boots, Fox's Biscuits, and the largest volume was for the Co-op, for which he worked on literally hundreds of lines over the years. His tasks involved everything from initial concept, to art direction of front of back serving suggestion photography, to retouching and pre-repro artwork.
In need of a change and after many years in salaried, Howard went freelance for a spell, which gave him the greatest variety of work in his career - he was hired week in-week-out for his creative input on projects for M&S, ASDA, Somerfield, Google, Greencore, Haribo, Lloyds Bank, the Royal Mail, Nestlé, Unilever and many more.
Since establishing Rushfirth Creative, along with his wife and partner, Howard has committed to utilising all the exact same skills, experience and approach that has benefited all the aforementioned big brands, to primarily support SMEs of the UK. In addition to this, Howard and the Rushfirth Creative team are now making inroads back into the corporate sector and are planning to increase the big-brand quota in their portfolio in 2023.
